Pans’ Labyrinth (2006)

Down in the Delta (1998)

That all healing must begin with self-respect, close-knit family ties and an appreciation of personal history is the "message" behind this film, which opens in Chicago, where a three-generational family is falling apart, despite the best efforts of its matriarch who, in a last-ditch attempt to save them, sends her daughter and two grandchildren to relatives in the Mississippi Delta for the summer.
